Media Discrepancy on Elon Musk Buying Twitter

 

A few days ago Elon Musk came to an agreement with twitter to buy the company in a $44 billion deal and will be taking the company private as he will be the sole owner of twitter stock. This has taken the world by storm as twitter is one of the most important platforms for communication which has led to the mainstream news covering this transaction in different ways. On the one hand there is Fox who has been covering this story as a win for free speech while CNN is hesitant on whether this will be good or bad for the future. Fox news has been very critical of the tech companies who they see as having too much control on what people can say on their platforms, so they are praising Elon for taking a stand against censorship. CNN though is worried that his campaign for free speech will lead to a surge of misinformation on the platform when he takes over and allowing for political figures such as Donald Trump to return to the platform.
