Media Discrepancy on the Supreme Court Nomination of Judge Jackson
Justice Steven Breyer announced his retirement this year, and as a result President Joe Biden has nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to be his replacement. Like any Supreme Court nomination, the selection has been polarizing and she has been met with scrutiny from across the political isle. Fox news and CNN on their respective broadcasts have covered Judge Jackson differently with CNN covering her with praise while Fox being critical of her views and history as a Judge. CNN highlighted that Judge Jackson would be the first black woman supreme court justice, and they brought on the Dean of Boston University who penned a letter that many in law have signed on to asking for her to be confirmed quickly. Fox on the other hand discussed the potential problems with Jackson as a Justice sighting her willingness to pack the court and also be soft on crime with regards to child predators which their guest Senator Hawley touched on.
